Our quality of construction is unmatched. We build to exceed code requirements our decks – shortcuts are never allowed at Custom Decks. Of course, every company says they do quality work, but how do you know who is really doing it right?
We prove it by meeting the highest standards. For example:
- Most decks are installed with floorboards running at a parallel your home. While we can run the boards this direction, we typically install deck boards. We lay our boards at a 45-degree angle, which greatly reduces or even eliminates “racking.” (Racking is where a deck shakes a bit when you walk on it or shift your weight on it.)
- The joists are what support your deck underneath deck boards. For a deck to meet code, joists must be 16 inches on center. Not good enough for us – we place them 12 inches on center for better stability.
- We also put a border around the perimeter of our decks, and we support this with border blocking. This completes the overall look of the deck.
- We always use pressure treated lumber on every deck we build. This insures a longer life for your deck without extra expense.
